Searching for Meaning in a Fast-Scrolling World

It has been a really interesting journey trying to secure funding for this new film. Support has often come from the most unexpected places. Asking people to invest in a project that may not immediately mean much to them is never easy. We live in a world of endless scrolling and fleeting entertainment - content that holds attention for only a few seconds before it disappears with the swipe of a thumb. Creating something more meaningful than that, something capable of truly holding people’s attention in this fast-paced world of marketing and influencer culture, feels increasingly difficult.
It can also be hard to convey the amount of effort that goes into every single shot we create. Our films are built around patience and persistence. We spend days waiting for the right light, hiking countless kilometres through forests and mountains, and spending hours underwater carrying heavy camera gear - always ready for that one fleeting moment worth capturing.
For us, Currents Of Life is a project we feel deeply passionate about. The Pyrenees are a place we constantly return to and draw inspiration from. The River Ter flows past our house before eventually completing its journey at one of our favourite places in the world - the Medes Islands, where we dive and kayak regularly. There’s something incredibly powerful about knowing that these mountains, this river, and the Medes Islands are all connected as part of one natural system. That connection lies at the heart of this film.
We are currently speaking to some agencies who are involved in the protection of these environments and we hope to have them onboard wth this project soon, which will give further weight to what we are doing.

Ha estat un viatge realment interessant intentar aconseguir finançament per a aquesta nova pel·lícula. El suport sovint ha arribat dels llocs més inesperats. Demanar a la gent que inverteixi en un projecte que potser no significa gaire per a ells immediatament mai és fàcil. Vivim en un món de desplaçament infinit i entreteniment fugaç: contingut que només capta l'atenció durant uns segons abans de desaparèixer amb un simple lliscament del polze. Crear alguna cosa més significativa que això, alguna cosa capaç de captar realment l'atenció de la gent en aquest món accelerat del màrqueting i la cultura dels influencers, sembla cada cop més difícil.

També pot ser difícil transmetre la quantitat d'esforç que es dedica a cada presa que creem. Les nostres pel·lícules es basen en la paciència i la persistència. Passem dies esperant la llum adequada, caminant incomptables quilòmetres a través de boscos i muntanyes, i passant hores sota l'aigua portant equip de càmera pesat, sempre preparats per a aquell moment fugaç que val la pena capturar.

Per a nosaltres, Currents Of Life és un projecte que ens apassiona profundament. Els Pirineus són un lloc al qual tornem constantment i del qual ens inspirem. El riu Ter passa per casa nostra abans d'acabar el seu recorregut en un dels nostres llocs preferits del món: les Illes Medes, on bussegem i fem caiac regularment. Hi ha quelcom increïblement poderós en saber que aquestes muntanyes, aquest riu i les Illes Medes estan connectats com a part d'un sistema natural. Aquesta connexió és el cor d'aquesta pel·lícula.
Actualment estem parlant amb algunes agències que participen en la protecció d'aquests entorns i esperem tenir-les aviat a bord d'aquest projecte, cosa que donarà més pes al que estem fent.
